Associate Pastor of Students & Activities

First Baptist Farmington is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Students & Activities to fulfill the job description listed below. Salary is commensurate with experience and position includes insurance. JOB TITLE:  Full-Time Associate Pastor for Students and Activities 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: 

The minister of students and activities is responsible to the pastor for planning, conducting, and evaluating student ministries, for leading in a church-wide plan of recreation and activities, and for coordinating the family life center. 

REGULAR DUTIES: 

  1. Lead in planning, coordinating and evaluating a student ministry that integrates with the total ministry of the church.
  2. Work with recreation director and appropriate program leaders in planning church wide recreational programs and activities for all ages.
  3. Coordinate the family-life center activities.
  4. Work with nominating committee, minister of education and other program directors to enlist and train adult leadership. Strive to involve parents and other adult lay leadership in all aspects of student programming.
  5. Cultivate relationships and plan ministries which will reach students with a wide variety of interests.
  6. Implement a ministry and an evangelistic outreach to college students. Develop and implement a strategy to reach students at MAC.
  7. Plan and promote a visitation effort among youth and students including outreach, in-reach and students ministering to others.
  8. Assist minister of education and other program leaders in developing budgets for these areas.
  9. Develop relationships with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and other school staff. Periodically attend school sponsored student
  10. Lead in planning periodic events to assist and encourage parents of youth.
  11. Keep informed on methods, materials, principles, local resources and people that can assist with student ministry. 
  12. Plan and lead a midweek Bible study and prayer service for students.
  13. Assist with pastoral ministries such as hospital visitation and develop a personal plan for weekly pastoral and prospect visitation.
  14. Serve as ex-officio member of appropriate church committees and meet with committees as assigned.
  15. Assist, as needed, other members of the staff.
  16. Cooperate with associational and state leaders in promoting activities of mutual interest.
  17. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the pastor.

 

RELATIONSHIPS: 

  1. Serve as a member of the church council.
  2. Serve on the church staff with status equal to that of the other ministers, all of whom work at the direction of the pastor.
  3. The weekly schedule of the minister of students and activities must be flexible. Because weekend and evening hours are often a necessity, office hours will be adjusted accordingly. This weekly schedule should be coordinated with the pastor.
Full Time or Part-Time Custodian/Maintenance Worker

First Baptist Farmington is seeking either full-time or part-time Custodians/Maintenance Workers to fulfill tasks similar to the job description listed below. JOB TITLE:  Full Time or Part-Time Custodian/Maintenance Worker

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: 

The custodian is responsible to the pastor for the cleanliness and maintenance of the church building, facilities therein, and the orderly arrangement of facilities for the various daily uses of the church. 

REGULAR DUTIES: 

  1. Open and close buildings daily as scheduled. See that lights are off when buildings are not in use. 
  2. Operate heating and cooling equipment according to schedule in order to maintain proper temperatures for use of facilities, and be here during all church-wide
  3. Maintain and set-up educational and worship areas for regular and special activities.  This includes moving furniture, setting up tables and chairs for dinners, banquets, and other similar occasions, and set-up assembly and classroom areas for regular activities.
  4. Maintain clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
  5. Clean church offices, dust furniture, and dispose of trash daily, and as needed.
  6. Maintain heating and cooling equipment to assure proper working order, e. grease pump on heating system, change and wash air filters, check on water in furnace, and make repairs as necessary.  Also, maintain and make minor repairs to building and other equipment as necessary, i.e. replace light bulbs inside and outside church building as needed, painting, etc.
  7. Maintain floor according to schedule.  Dust furniture and equipment, wash walls and windows, and vacuum carpets as scheduled.
  8. Prepare baptistery and dressing rooms for use as directed and clean following their use.
  9. Prepare facilities for special use as requested by supervisor.
  10. Assist when facilities and arrangements are needed for wedding, funeral, etc.
  11. Maintain proper supplies.  Request cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment as needed.
  12. Check with church office or supervisor daily for special assignments.
  13. Report to supervisor or staff member on things that custodian is unable to repair or maintain.
  14. Remove ice and snow from sidewalks and entrances.
  15. Mow grass, trim shrubbery, and maintain clean church entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas.
  16. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
